Montien
Thai Resaurant:
8920 Reseda Blvd. Northridge, CA 91324
Tel: 818-772-1937
The Thai Restaurant is called Montien Thai. This was actually
the third time I've been here. The first time I took my ex, Jessica
and the second time I went with a close friend, Andre--both times
I haven't been disappointed. The ambience for this tiny place is
marvelous. From the outside it looks like a hole-in-the-wall, but
once inside you have this family atmosphere reception. The meals
aren't that huge, so if you're really hungry you might opt out for
a Todai or Sushi Factory (see above review)...but the way they serve
the food makes it worthwhile. This is definitely a place to take
a date if you're on a budget. The average meal price for dinner
ranges from $6-$9 depending
on whether or not you want noodles or a rice dish. This time
for lunch, all three of us had lunch specials. The average cost
was $4 a plate...not bad at all. Try the Thai Ice tea here (although
refills aren't free)...it tasted very authentic. There is a parking
lot behind the restaurant on Reseda. -gcc

Krua
Thai Restaurant:
13130 Sherman Way Blvd., North Hollywood,
CA 91605
Tel: 818-759-7998
One of the better
Thai restaurants in the Valley. Having been there on numerous occasions,
it still is one of my favorite Thai restaurants to go to. Although
Sanumluang Café, another Thai restaurant down the street,
is another choice to dine, I felt that Krua Thai is the better of
the two. Though the décor is nicer at Krua Thai, the food
speaks for itself. Some of my favorite dishes include shrimp cake
and panang (beef curry in peanut-coconut sauce). With decent prices
and great food, Krua Thai is a great bargain for those wanting exceptional
Thai food. -kk

Sanam
Luang Café,
located in North Hollywood on Sherman Way, is one of old-school
Thai restaurants in the Valley. Although Sanamluang is best known
for there Thai noodle, I though the food overall was not that good.
Despite the ok food, the restaurant is still pretty popular amongst
the locals as a hang-out place. Word of caution, though, do not
go there very late at night as Asian gangs are known to frequent
there. -kk
